Way Out Sailing
This blog will consist largely of posts regarding the refit of SY Beyond. Designed by Charles Wittholz, Beyond is a Departure 35', custom built in steel. She was welded together in Washignton state, and trucked to Tarton Springs, Florida for the interior build in 1984. She has been sitting in North Sound, Virgin Gorda, for the past eight years at her mooring, and is now in need of a lot attention. The tropical sun and the marine environment are harsh aggressors to a boat and with flaky rust in evidence below the waterline, she will need a lot of work before she is put to sea.
